Abstract

This article analyses the initial findings of an interview study concerning the phenomenon of criminality in extended family structures and potential prevention approaches. The paper begins by highlighting the fundamental problem of a lack of evidence on the phenomenology and the absence of a scientifically standardised definition. Current scientific findings and police data are subsequently discussed. Based on the phenomenological classification, results concerning the potential target group and preventive measures regarding the criminality in extended family structures are outlined. Finally, the challenges of current and future preventive measures regarding the phenomenon are discussed.
