The proportion of Muslims in youth prisons has increased significantly in recent years. At the same time, little attention has been paid to the religious counselling of Muslim inmates. The research project "Young Muslims in Prison" research project investigated the importance of religion and faith for juvenile prisoners in Germany. It analyses how religious care is organised, especially for Muslims, and what improvements the prisoners themselves would like to see in regards ofregarding religious care. This article focuses on Islamic religious counselling and explains the needs of juvenile prisoners in this context.
